NASNA’s EXPORT OPERATION

ANIMAL WELFARE A KEY FOCUS FOR NASNA’s EXPORT OPERATION

NASNA’s export operation is always committed to ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare throughout the entire supply chain. We understand that long-distance shipments can be stressful for animals, and we go to great lengths to minimize stress and ensure the safe and comfortable transport of livestock from raising farms to ultimate overseas destinations by adherence to Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock (ASEL) standards for compliance.

Our animal welfare measures include:

Strict adherence to industry and world practices: NASNA adheres to the most stringent animal welfare standards, including those set by the Australian Government, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Rigorous traceability systems: NASNA’s traceability systems allow us to track the movement of animals from their origin to their destination, ensuring that they are treated with care and compassion at every stage of the journey.

Collaboration with leading animal welfare standards: NASNA works closely with leading animal welfare standards, such as the ASEL, OIE, local and state governments regulations across Australia to develop and implement best practices in animal welfare.

During sea and air shipments, NASNA takes the following additional measures to ensure the well-being of animals by focusing on :

All our vessels are inspected by Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) on every voyage into Australian waters and undergo a yearly inspection to comply with the requirements of the Australian Certificate for the Carriage of Livestock (ACCL).

Acclimatization: Livestock are acclimatized to the transport environment before shipment, helping to reduce stress levels.

Adequate ventilation and space: NASNA’s vessels and aircraft are designed to provide livestock with adequate ventilation and space, ensuring that they are comfortable and healthy during the journey.

Expert care and attention: NASNA employs a team of highly skilled and experienced livestock handlers who are dedicated to ensuring the welfare of animals throughout the entire journey.

NASNA is committed to setting new standards for excellence in animal welfare in the livestock export industry. We believe that all animals deserve to be treated with respect and compassion, and we are dedicated to doing everything we can to ensure the well-being of livestock during sea and air shipments.
